Apple Crisp

Ingredients

  • Inside

    • 4 apples peeled and sliced in ¼ inch pieces

      • Honey crisp apples work best

    • 1 tablespoon coconut oil

    • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

    • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger

  • Crisp topping 

    • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

    • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger

    • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg

    • 1 cup old fashioned oats

    • ⅓ cup sunflower seeds

    • 2 tablespoons coconut oil

    • 1 tablespoon maple syrup

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F

  • Grease an 8inch x 8 inch baking dish

  • Peel and cut apples into ¼ inch slices

  • Melt coconut oil and toss with apples, cinnamon, and ginger the set aside

  • Mix together crisp topping ingredients

  • Pour apple mixture into baking dish and layer topping evenly on top

  • Cover baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes

  • Remove aluminum foil cover and bake for another 10-20 minutes until apples are fork tender and topping in golden brown
