Vitamin D Will Help You Lose Weight But Pills Are a Waste of Money!

If you want to lose weight, you should ensure you get enough vitamin D.  

Most people in the United States don’t get enough vitamin D.  The number of people deficient in vitamin D ranges from 40%  to 92%.  Despite this considerable disparity, it’s safe to say that you probably don’t have enough vitamin D in your life.

Why does this matter?

Vitamin D has many benefits like strengthening your immune system, preventing certain types of cancer, reducing the risk of diabetes, and lowering blood pressure. 

And when it comes to weight loss, vitamin D helps regulate your testosterone so you can build and maintain muscle, which helps speed up your metabolism.  It also reduces the release of cortisol, a stress hormone that contributes to belly fat. 

Vitamin D does so much good for you, more than I can understand or try to explain.  

The message here is this:  get more vitamin D.

So how do you get more vitamin D?

Vitamin D supplements are a big money-making product.  There are a ton of pills to pick from, but unfortunately, they are, for the most part, complete garbage and a waste of money.

I found out I was vitamin D deficient a while back.  My doctor told me to take a vitamin D supplement to help out.  Seems pretty simple right?  Wrong!

It’s easy to assume that taking a pill will solve your vitamin D problem, but the truth is most of these pills are synthetic versions and made from chemicals in a big factory.  Our bodies can’t handle a big dump of these chemical supplements the way they can process them from natural sources.

And supplement companies lie.  They don’t have to tell you the truth about their products or what’s in them because of the Diet Supplement Act of 1994 (I talk more about that here).

So the vitamin D supplement you may be taking isn’t doing much for you.

What should you do instead?

Contrary to what fancy marketing may tell you, you can get enough vitamin D from fifteen minutes of sun exposure, or eating salmon or a handful of mushrooms.

Getting the proper amount of vitamin D is easy, but not as easy as popping a pill.  But is there ever a magic pill to solve a problem?

Vitamin D plays a vital role in your weight loss lifestyle, but don’t waste your money on vitamin D pills.  Get some sun on your skin and eat some salmon or mushrooms instead.
